主症

发病缓慢，先有精神苦闷，继则神志呆痴，甚则自言自语，嬉笑不止；或终日不语，喜静多卧，不知饮食，不知秽洁，舌苔薄腻，脉象弦滑。

Main Manifestations

Gradual onset, emotional dejection and dullness at early stage, followed by soliloquy non-stopping laughing or silence, anorexia, somnolence, thin, sticky tongue coating, string-taut rolling pulse.

治法

取足太阳、任脉、手厥阴经穴为主。针刺平补平泻法，以疏肝宁神，健脾化痰。

Treatment

主症

始则性情急躁，头痛失眠，面红，怒视继则妄言责骂，不分亲疏，或毁物打人，力逾寻常，虽数日不食，仍精神不倦，苔黄腻，脉弦滑数。

Main Manifestations

Irritability, headache, insomnia, red face, then violent behaviours, followed by excessive motor activity, loss of appetite in few days but with full of vigour. Yellow sticky tongue coating, string-taut, rolling and rapid pulse.

治法

取督脉、手厥阴、足阳明经穴为主。针用泻法，以宁心安神，清热化痰。

Treatment

Reducing manipulation is applied to the points on Governor Vessel, Pericardium Meridian, Stomach Meridian to calm the heart, reduce the heat and dissolve the phlegm.
